New Monochrome Echo EP Zebraprint Out Now!!!
Those of you following my Monochrome Echo stuff will probably be aware of this already but I thought it was about time I posted about it here on the blog for those that missed it.
Following the release of the first full-length album I Remember My Dreams back in June, I have just put out my third EP as Monochrome Echo. This is my electronic project in case you’ve been hiding under a rock somewhere. I’ve been releasing music under this name for a while now and it’s pretty much become the new face of my solo output.
The album is available digitally everywhere (There are no physical copies I’m afraid; but those of you that fancy a copy of my album can get one of the very limited edition cassettes via Wizard of Loneliness in the states), but as always the best place to get it is from my official Monochrome Echo Bandcamp Page where you can download it in whatever high-quality format you prefer.
At my Bandcamp page you can also buy the full Monochrome Echo back catalogue (including the brand new EP) as a bundle with a nifty 25% discount. You know it makes sense. Here’s a handy player so you can have a listen and a massive button to click to help you buy the record and support my music!
For the cheapskates amongst you the album is also available to stream on Spotify etc, as are all the other releases. Don’t forget to follow me on Spotify too so you can keep up to date with all the latest tracks and curated playlists! I particularly recommend my Inspiration Information playlist which has a whole bunch of the tracks that inspire my music. Enjoy!

Okay so some of you are probably wondering what/who the hell Monochrome Echo is, right?
Just over a year ago I decided to start a new project producing electronic music. I put together a little studio setup centred around Ableton. I wanted to separate this project from any previous/ongoing solo projects and so came up with the name Monochrome Echo. There’s a Facebook page, you can follow me on Soundcloud and Twitter as Monochrome Echo too.
Quite early on I started posting some tracks on the collaborative music site Blend.io, as well as submitting entries to some of their remix and production challenges. Blend has been fantastic for learning new skills and making new contacts. Some of my best tracks have been collaborations with other musicians and producers from all around the world. I highly recommend you take look if you’re into making electronic music.
A couple of months ago Blend contacted me about the possibility of releasing an EP of my music on their label. So I set to work…
I chose three tracks from my Blend page and three additional tracks I had been working on and the 64 Souls EP was born. 64 Souls was officially released on Friday 13th on Blend Records and is now available via all digital platforms including iTunes and Beatport. It’s also on Spotify if you’re the streaming type.
I hope you like the new direction. I have a stack of music waiting to be released so watch this space for news of further offerings. Better still, like the Facebook page and follow me on Twitter. Monochrome Echo just getting started…

Hello folks,
Today is the official release of the Oldie Composers EP. With over 250 submissions, the four finalists had their songs recorded at Maida Vale studios in April (you can check out my photoblog from the sessions) and today sees the release of all four songs on iTunes and the Charity Goods website. I’ve just got home from the launch with Sir Terry Wogan at the BBC and we’re all very excited about the project…
The EP features performances by Anthony Head, FTW, Clare Teal and Andrea Ryder; with a stellar band including Marcus Bonfanti, Nick Mason, Ian ‘Squeezy’ Watson, Steve Rushton, Grant Windsor and Bond. And me on bass obviously…
You can buy a CD of the EP if you prefer from the Charity Goods website (there are a limited number available), but the best way to support the charity is to download from either iTunes or their site. The songwriter with the most downloads will win the Oldie Composers competition so you’ll be voting with your downloading! Although this is a charity EP, so if I were you I’d just download the entire thing…
You can have a listen to the tracks on iTunes (just click this link) and grab a copy of your favourites. At the moment it looks as if FTW’s version of Loves Forever is in the lead, but I’d also highly recommend checking out Anthony Head’s version of Cry by Marina Florence and Clare Teal’s Peace For The Child by Maggie Duffy. Not that I want to influence the outcome of the competition, obviously…
Big congratulations go out to all the finalists. The songs all sound great thanks to the sterling work of our producer AD Chivers. And as always big thanks are due to Hellen Bach (@HellenBach) and Norman Macintosh (@BigNormski1) for all their hard work in making this happen. Between them they have raised millions for children’s charities. You should follow them both on Twitter immediately to keep up to date with their various projects and see how you can help.
So please do share this post, tweet about the EP and tell your friends on Facebook. All proceeds from the downloads will go to Barnardos and we need your help to spread the word. Hopefully Radio 2 will be playing some of the tracks over the coming week so you may well hear us on air at some point too. It was an absolute pleasure to be involved with this project and I hope we can build on it for the future to make this a regular fund-raising event for this great charity.
Enjoy 🙂
