Just a quick post as i realised that I’ve yet to post anything on this website of mine for quite some time and clearly you are all feeling neglected.
So the big European tour from The Divine Comedy has come to a finish and I’m sure some of you would love to relive those halcyon days from the comfort of your own homes.
Well in that case you’ll be delighted to know that you can still stream the entire Folies Bergère show from back in February on Youtube via those clever people at Culturebox.
And here it is
We’ll be seeing you at some festivals over the summer months.
Until then you’ll be glad to hear that Inhale a brand new Monochrome Echo Ep out this Friday! It’s called Analog Artifacts and it’ll be available on Bandcamp, and everywhere else the following Friday 14th for those of you that (for some silly reason) don’t like Bandcamp.
I’ll remind you of this important news on the day. Obviously.
As many of you may already know, our latest release with Clare Teal At Your Request is officially out now and available in all the usual stores online.
We completed recording the album at the end of last year and it features a stella lineup including a four-piece horn section (Sam Mayne, Dave O’Higgins, Martin Shaw and Ashley Horton) alongside the regular trio of myself, Grant Windsor and Ben Reynolds.
The repertoire consists of all those songs we’ve developed in the live show over the last couple of years that have yet to feature on record including Van Morrison’s The Way Young Lovers Do and Dory Previn’s Twenty-Mile Zone. It’s the final recording with Grant as he has now moved back to Australia.
We officially launched the album at the Cadogan Hall show last Saturday with the ‘mini big band’ as featured on the record. We’ll be doing a few more dates later on in the year with the same band, as well as the Hollywood-style orchestra’s Doris Day show and the new trio featuring the awesome Jason Rebello.
You can grab your copy of At Your Request from Amazon or Clare’s very own Bandcamp site, where you can also find all the recent recordings. Here’s a little handy Bandcamp player so you can have a listen. Hopefully see you at a show soon…
Just a quick post to let you know that a couple of my tracks were featured on this week’s podcast by Jayme Lewis.
Jayme is a session bassist, producer and author over in Los Angeles. His website is a great place to start if you want to check him out. Which I strongly suggest you do. His tutorial videos on YouTube are always excellent and I’ve been listening to his podcast for a while now. He always plays great tunes on there and I’ve certainly discovered some fantastic music via the podcast. In fact I first heard the awesome Mister Barrington on Jayme’s podcast about a month ago.
Jayme got in touch with me a couple of months ago to see if he could include a couple of my tracks. Of course he could! In this week’s episode he plays some mysterious song from The Knowledge Of Things To Come (which is still  available as a PWYW download via Bandcamp and iv from the trio record Foreground Music, Vol. I with Jez Carr and Mike Haughton.
It’s always interesting to see which tracks people pick to showcase an album. To be honest I’d be hard pushed to pick a particular track from any of my solo recordings as an example of what I do when I’m playing solo. I think some mysterious song is actually a great choice now I hear it on it’s own. That track contains a lot of the features that characterised the album for me so here’s a big thumbs up for Jayme…
ps. Jayme, if you read this: the rhythm track you hear was the sound of me plugging my bass in looped up at the start, It is indeed all live from start to finish…
So, please go forth  and check out Jayme Lewis and all the great stuff on his website. Big thanks to Jayme for the feature. It’s always great to know that someone appreciates your music and I’m in great company being featured on his Podcast.
